The Importance of Sleep for Older Adults (and How to Get More of It)
We all know how good it feels to wake up after a restful night’s sleep, but for older adults quality sleep is more than just refreshing. It’s essential. Research shows that sleep plays a vital role in memory, mood, immune function, and overall physical health.

Cracking Cursive and Giving Back
This summer, our community joined a unique nationwide initiative in partnership with the National Archives to help “translate” handwritten historical documents, many dating back to the Revolutionary War, into searchable digital text.

Beating the Heat: Summer Tips for Seniors
As the summer sun ramps up, so does the risk of heat-related health concerns … especially for older adults. At Springwell Senior Living, we know how important it is to stay cool, hydrated, and safe when temperatures rise. Here’s why it matters and how to beat the heat without missing out on summer’s simple pleasures.

Celebrating a Decade of Music and Connection
At Springwell Senior Living, we believe that the arts aren’t just something to be enjoyed — they’re essential to a life well lived. This belief came to life in a powerful way on May 19, when we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our extraordinary partnership with the Peabody Institute’s Musician-in-Residence (MIR) program.
Held in our beautiful chapel, the event brought together residents, staff, musicians, and special guests to reflect on a decade of meaningful musical moments that have enriched our community in countless ways. Our current Musician-in-Residence, internationally acclaimed pianist Myroslav Mykhailenko, led a heartfelt retrospective honoring the seven talented Peabody Conservatory students who have called Springwell home over the past ten years.

A Life in Art: The Carol and Ken Collection Comes to Springwell
At Springwell, we believe art has the power to inspire, heal, and connect — and now, thanks to our partnership with Avila Art Makers, we’re bringing that power directly to our campus.
We’re proud to debut a stunning new exhibit featuring The Carol and Ken Collection, a deeply personal and thoughtfully curated selection of modern art, presented by longtime collectorsCarol Morgan and her late partner, Ken Warwick. Their story is one of shared passion, creativity, and a lifelong connection to the arts — and it lives on through the extraordinary pieces now on view for Springwell residents and their guests.

Flip the Script on Aging: Celebrating Older Americans Month 2025
Aging is often viewed through a narrow lens, filled with outdated stereotypes and misconceptions. But this year, during Older Americans Month, we’re flipping the script on aging! Let’s take a closer look at the stereotypes surrounding aging, how they’re being dismantled, and the exciting new possibilities for older adults today.

Brain Health: The Power of Constant Learning
As we age, taking care of our physical health is essential, but one area that often gets overlooked is brain health. Cognitive decline and memory loss are common concerns for seniors, and research has shown that, just like muscles, the brain needs consistent exercise to stay strong.
Engaging in lifelong learning is one of the most powerful ways to maintain mental sharpness, improve memory, and enhance overall brain health. The key is stimulating the brain regularly with new experiences, challenges, and skills.
