A Life in Art: The Carol and Ken Collection Comes to Springwell

At Springwell, we believe art has the power to inspire, heal, and connect — and now, thanks to our partnership with Avila Art Makers, we’re bringing that power directly to our campus.

We’re proud to debut a stunning new exhibit featuring The Carol and Ken Collection, a deeply personal and thoughtfully curated selection of modern art, presented by longtime collectorsCarol Morgan and her late partner, Ken Warwick. Their story is one of shared passion, creativity, and a lifelong connection to the arts — and it lives on through the extraordinary pieces now on view for Springwell residents and their guests.

The exhibit is part of the AvilaArt Makers program, a collaborative initiative between senior living communities and Avila Home Care. More than just an art exhibit, this series offers a full cultural experience, including artist talks that give residents an intimate look into the creative process. These conversations open the door to deeper understanding and connection — not only with the artists but with one another.

Carol and Ken’s love story is written in brushstrokes, architectural lines, and carefully chosen canvases.Their journey spans decades of gallery visits, museum wanderings, and friendships with the very artists whose work they collected. From Ken’s background in architecture to Carol’s leadership in mental health and the arts, their combined vision brought beauty and intention into every space they called home— including Ken’s final project, a lovingly designed senior living residence for Carol.

Art and music are woven into daily life at Springwell, with opportunities for residents to engage through classes, museum outings, and on-campus exhibits and performances that bring creativity right to their doorstep. They nourish the soul, inspire conversation, and offer comfort and stimulation in equal measure. We’re honored to host Avila ArtMakers and to share in this vibrant, evolving celebration of creativity.
